The Sea of “Three Pi”?
This turned out to be a really fun assignment, offering a time-based platform to sit, think and play- expanding personal perception on a wide range of expectations. The exercise created the action of relating words, research and thoughts in review of the finished sculpture piece called “Three Pi”. I have never before taken the time to really digest all that goes into my work- until now, -as I am not normally one to move slowly.
This project has been like lightning striking and when the smoke cleared I could see there was no damage.
I reviewed all my notes and look at the sculpture object over a long period of time (ie: three months). I wrote many very literal versions of what I saw- using experience, mathematical, material, philosophical and action in attempt communicate. It has really taken a long process of being prodded and guided- writing, thinking, revisiting, drawing and looking forward -which has allowed the coming to one personally understood sentence. Right or wrong you decide –
