Hello, and thank you for joining me as it snows outside the studio window, yet I look forward to the warmth of the spring sun on my face and walk with dry feet.

Over the last year, I have been interested in Himalayan salt and its healing properties on the human body. In my inquiry, it seemed a natural intersection for art sculpture to be psychologically positively charged with the salt characteristics of healing.
My interest stimulated a series of sculptures, The Himalayan Salt Chunk Sculpture Series, which offer an artistic flair of salt and metal for personal environments stimulating a pleasing, positive, calm, relaxing, and rejuvenating experience. Halotherapy (dry salt therapy) a growing trend in holistic wellness, helps to absorb and remove allergens, toxins, and foreign substances in your lungs and throughout your respiratory tract. Salt also may reduce any inflammation and open airway passages making breathing easier. Although there is limited modern scientific research, Halotherapy has been practiced in Europe for respiratory ailments since 1843 for centuries by native peoples in the Himalayan Mountains.
