“Don’t think about making art, just get it done. Let everyone else decide whether its good or bad, whether they love it or hate it.
While they are deciding, make even more art.”
– Andy Warhol
Greetings all I hope this finds you well and on your way to final documentation! hard to believe its almost a year and soon we are back in Germany ~~~WOOO HOOO!!
On a personal note this month had been one of extreme difficultly as I had a bought with chronic Lyme’s. Which really made it fun because I wanted to create a large piece for my crescendo of final documentation. SO the vigorous labor with pain made it interesting -NOT!
Unfortunately or fortunately—I work alone (no one around to piss off) and I don’t currently have any large equipment to make it easier but maybe that’s good because you have to plan your moves like chess, Thinking More and Moving Less. Everyone needs motivation to strive towards something. Although I really would love to have an articulated fork truck and a power lift. crystal ball says-Yup its in my future.
Anyway- I got er” Done!

Michigan University says: The circle is a universal symbol with extensive meaning. It represents the notions of totality, wholeness, original perfection, the Self, the infinite, eternity, timelessness, all cyclic movement, God (‘God is a circle whose center is everywhere and whose circumference is nowhere’ (Hermes Trismegistus)).
Don’t let me lead you only towards the circles because the conversation is far deeper in my mind equaling the Evaluation of Spirit Self.
I have not had opportunity to pour concrete and install for good photographs but I’m in hopes you can see and digest any way.
This is the culmination of all of my thoughts, research, process, meditations and ideas of this project time.

Weaving Automotive Wire On Hubcap Looms-
I meant to make more of these there very fun and easy to chant during creation but time ran out. I cut the hubcap so there’s a hole in the center. Collected automotive wire my favorite is trailer wire because there’s long lengths of multiple colors all you have to do is separate by cutting the cover off.
This was conceived as an extenuation of the oil pastel lines that I work with all the time. The wire that had current running through it is an essential detail in my mind adding to the metaphoric symbolic deity or energy force.
This one was photographed purposely for visual conversations and innuendo.

This project has been underway for what feels like a long time.
This series of small sculpture are all made from multiple metals- Copper, Aluminum, Brass, cold rolled Steel, Stainless steel and Silver. I chose for the material property similarly as the use of gem stones know to icons and deity’s. Practices were handed down through ages known as alchemy. Alchemists believe substance or material can be broken down into elemental correspondence. The individual metal is known to carry many magical attributes. Currently this is the only place I include scientific study. The amulets are wearable and combine many ideas of traditions implementing spirit that is easily accessible through the wearing of an object. All of this series was conceived and made through research & meditation practices and there is no re-purposed materials, which made me feel as though it was harder to find or give spirit to the work.
153. Divination by the examination of lightning. 12″ x 12″, stainless steel, copper, aluminum, cold rolled steel, soldered, welded raw in finish.

The materials were chosen for their past life’s functions. Top is made from an axle off a circus trailer. The woman did a dog act while driving the axle seized. She was broke down at the truck stop. There is a crazy amount of miles on the axle running coast to coast and equal amount of labor to get it free so it could be changed. It was pounded on by a sledge hammer, cut with a torch, ground beat pried all of which can be seen by the marks left and yet its still got a round smooth surface. the circles are commercial pipe cut, that carried electrical wire under water- Charged! hahah, I saw it as a vessel telling a looping dialog to energy, stagnate same combining, what is what was, joining, clean concentric and swiftly changing. The pictures don’t show how there’s a change in personality with the change in light. I will be showing it in the solo show to open on July 5th.

The sculpture is made from re- purposed metals then sandblasted, primed and painted with industrial and hand made from pigment paint. Once the sculpture was completed I then cut it in half to sand blast using an industrial blasting cabinet.
