Painting No. T27_ Screech (2017)
Oil & Tar painting, using a hubcap as a paintbrush on canvas.
Michelle feeds preditors outside her kitchen window. In the fall over the last six years, she has had an owl visit staying perched on the barn edge, for hours watching the yards events.
This has allowed Michelle to feed, draw, photograph. paint, converse with the bird.
Although much of what Michelle has read says they are not social with humans, this one loves the attention- and everyone noticing s/he presents.
(2015) I found a Barred Owl that got clipped by a vehicle, he seemed to demand my creative attention AND LAtER While taking the dogs for a walk -I SURPRISINGLY got to watch a Barred Owl live hunting the fields on the river. When your driving along or looking upon a Barred owl they really don’t feel Big but when you’re in close what an amazing majestic bird. I now really understand why they say BIG SPIRIT. He will be taxidermied and displayed in one of the 4 bird teaching centers of New York State 2015. I hope he’s at Moreau State Park bird center.
